I am having entirely too much fun making these snowflakes. It’s very meditative work, sorting the shells and stones by color and size, and then working out the patterns. Prints are available in my Etsy shop. In other news, we’ve set dates for the lectures I mentioned last post:
“The Coast Walk,” Artist-in-Residence lecture, Sept.26, 7-8 pm. Moore Auditorium, Schoodic Education and Research, Acadia National Park.
“Stories from the Coast Walk,” October 4, 2015, 2pm. Bar Harbor Historical Society, Ledgelawn Avenue, Bar Harbor, Maine.
I’m also giving a couple of workshops in addition to the usual Wednesday night ‘Playing with Nature’ class:
August 20, 8:30-10:30 am: “Playing with Nature” outdoors at the Fabbri Memorial Picnic Area, Acadia National Park. (I’m a 2015 Artist-in-Residence.) Info will be posted here: http://www.nps.gov/acad/planyourvisit/calendar.htm
August 21, 2015, 8-10 am: “Brunch and Learn: Taking Better Pictures with your Smart Phone,” Anchorspace, 337 Main Street, Bar Harbor. $25. Sign up at https://breakingeveninc.com/brunch-and-learn/
Sept.26, 3-5 pm: “Playing with Nature” outdoors at Schoodic Peninsula, Acadia National Park. (I’m a 2015 Artist-in-Residence.) Info will be posted here: http://www.nps.gov/acad/planyourvisit/calendar.htm
You can see everything I’ve got coming up on the ‘Events’ tab in the menu at the top of the page.
Well, look at you flourishing! So many events and so little time. Your community is lucky to have you:) Gather, Speak and Create…on! Laura
