I’ve got a few more photos from the renovation for you.
The third bedroom is a long way from finished, but we love the deep underwater blue and the graphic shapes of the hubcaps. Any ideas for a very crisp, unfussy window treatment?
The new swing just barely fits – we’ll need to repaint the porch walls regularly where it bumps them! It’s awfully comfortable, though, and long enough to lie down on. I plan to do a lot of reading here.
One of the biggest projects was re-doing the front steps. We completely ripped out the old concrete and replaced it with solid granite stairs and a dry-laid bluestone landing. Now comes the fun part – choosing little creeping plants to line the edges and tuck between the steps!
What a delicious shade of blue in your third bedroom and the hubcaps are awesome! As is the light on the ceiling. Your new steps and porch swing are PERFECT! I can tell you’re having fun with these projects!
I really am – right now I’m brainstorming ways to make bedside lamps out of hubcaps for my son’s room 🙂
How about top down shades for the bedroom. No fussy curtain and they will let in the light while giving some privacy. They’re really pricey. We’ve been wanting them for the inn but can’t afford to do all the windows. This is Kristi on Katie’s account.

I wonder if plastic bumpers could be placed on the sides of the swing to reduce scuffing the walls? I’m thinking of the plastic pads you can put on furniture feet so you can easily slide it on carpet…
